Highway 19 construction in Rice County begins April 23
ROCHESTER, Minn. — Motorists can expect single-lane traffic on Highway 19 in Rice County between Lonsdale and Interstate 35 beginning Monday, April 23, as crews begin resurfacing the road.
Flaggers and a pilot car will control traffic throughout the project, which is scheduled to continue through May, weather permitting.
When the project is complete, motorists will experience a smoother ride surface and a safer highway.
Crane Creek Asphalt Inc, a division of Mathy Construction, is the prime contractor for the
$2.2 million project.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
