I-90 ramp closures in Olmsted County begin Aug. 23

ROCHESTER, Minn. – The westbound Interstate 90 exit and entrance ramps at Highway 63 will close temporarily beginning Tuesday, Aug. 23, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Motorists should follow the posted detour—Olmsted County Road 6 to Highway 63.

The closure will be in effect through Friday, Aug. 26, weather permitting, and is necessary while crews resurface the ramps.

The ramp resurfacing is part of the larger resurfacing project on Interstate 90 from Highway 63 to Olmsted County Road 19, which is scheduled to continue through September.

When the project is complete, motorists will experience a smoother ride surface and a safer highway with new guardrail.

Rochester Sand & Gravel is the prime contractor for the project.

MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
