Work resumes on Highway 76 in Houston County July 27

ROCHESTER, Minn. — Work on the Highway 76 culvert replacements between Highway 44 and Highway 16 will resume Wednesday, July 27.

The culvert replacements are part of a larger resurfacing project on Highway 76, which was temporarily suspended during the 20-day state government shutdown. The entire project is now expected to be complete at the end of September.

Motorists will continue to be detoured to Houston County Road 10 through September.

When the project is complete, motorists will experience a smoother ride surface and a safer highway with new guardrail.

Mathy Construction is the prime contractor for the project, which also includes resurfacing Highway 44 from Spring Grove to Caledonia.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
