Highway 76 culvert replacements, detour in Houston County begin June 20
ROCHESTER, Minn. — Motorists will encounter a detour on Highway 76 between Highway 44 and Highway 16 beginning Monday, June 20, as crews replace 26 culverts, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The detour uses Houston County Road 10 and will be in effect through mid-July, weather permitting.
The culvert replacements are part of a larger resurfacing project on Highway 76, which is scheduled to continue through mid-August, weather permitting. When the project is complete, motorists will experience a smoother ride surface and a safer highway with new guardrail.
Mathy Construction is the prime contractor for the project, which also includes resurfacing Highway 44 from Spring Grove to Caledonia.
MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
