Lane closures on Highway 52 in Pine Island begin July 27
ROCHESTER, Minn. – Motorists will experience periodic daily lane closures on Highway 52 between County Road 31 and 120th Street Northwest in Pine Island beginning Wednesday,
July 27.
When installed, these lane closures will be in place each day from approximately 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., through November. All lanes of Highway 52 are anticipated to reopen to traffic overnight.
The lane closures are needed as crews begin construction of the new Elk Run Interchange. The Elk Run Interchange’s innovative design will bring one of the first diverging diamond interchanges to Minnesota.
Construction on the Elk Run Interchange project began in spring 2011 and is anticipated to continue through November 2012. Shafer Contracting Co., Inc. is the primary contractor for this project.
