Work resumes on Highway 43 in Fillmore and Winona counties

ROCHESTER, Minn. — Work resumes on the Highway 43 resurfacing project between Rushford and Interstate 90.

The project was temporarily suspended during a 20-day state government shutdown. It is now expected to be complete in early August.

When the project is complete, motorists will experience a smoother ride surface and a safer highway with new guardrail.

Dunn Blacktop Co., a division of Mathy Construction, is the prime contractor for the $2,381,130 project.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
