New traffic signal on Highway 43 in Winona is now operating
ROCHESTER, Minn. – Motorists and pedestrians can now use the new traffic signal at the Highway 43/Sarnia Street and Franklin Street intersection in Winona.
The new traffic signal will remain green for Highway 43/Sarnia Street traffic until a vehicle approaches the intersection from Franklin Street or pedestrians push the button to use the crosswalk. This change will improve safety and traffic flow at the intersection.
MnDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this six-week project.
The traffic signal installation began May 16. Mankato Electric Inc. was the prime contractor for the project.
MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
