Highway 248 closes from Rollingstone to Highway 61 Aug. 3
ROCHESTER, Minn. – Highway 248 will close from Rollingstone to Highway 61 beginning Wednesday, Aug. 3, as crews resurface the highway.
The segment will temporarily open Friday evening, Aug. 5, for Rollingstone Days and then close again Monday, Aug. 8, through late August.
Highway 248 has been closed from Winona County Road 26 to Rollingstone since June 13 and will open in mid-September. Completion dates are weather permitting.
Motorists will continue to be detoured to Winona County Road 33, Highway 14 and
Highway 61.
Dunn Blacktop, a division of Mathy Construction, is the prime contractor for the project. When the project is finished, motorists will experience a smoother rode surface and a safer highway.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
