MnDOT installs new pedestrian ramps on Highway 247 in Plainview
ROCHESTER, Minn. – Motorists and pedestrians will experience minimal traffic and sidewalk delays along Highway 247 in Plainview as crews replace various pedestrian ramps beginning June 6.
Work will continue through early July, weather permitting.
The new ramps are part of the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s efforts to improve accessibility for pedestrians crossing state highways. Work also will include installing accessible pedestrian signals that will feature sounds and vibrations to aid the blind and hearing-impaired across the road safely.
Pember Companies Inc. is the contractor for this project.
MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
