Highway 246 resurfacing in Northfield begins Aug. 25
ROCHESTER, Minn. – Motorists can expect delays on Highway 246 from Highway 3 to the south end of Northfield beginning Aug. 25, as crews begin resurfacing the road.
The highway will be open, but driving conditions will be difficult. Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes through Tuesday, Aug. 30.
The resurfacing work on Highway 246 in Northfield is part of the larger resurfacing project from Nerstrand to Northfield. The entire project is scheduled to continue through early October, weather permitting.
When the project is complete, motorists will experience a smoother ride surface and a safer highway.
Crane Creek Asphalt, a division of Mathy Construction, is the prime contractor for the project.
MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
