Expect weekend delays at Highway 14/Marion Road intersection in Rochester Sept. 10
ROCHESTER, Minn. — Motorists can expect weekend delays Saturday, Sept. 10, when the traffic signals at the intersection of Highway 14 and Marion Road are turned off and replaced with four-way stop signs.
The signal will be shut off from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and is necessary while crews conduct signal work.
The signal work is part of the Highway 14 reconstruction project, which includes new traffic signals at Third Avenue, Eighth Avenue, 11th Avenue and Marion Road. The project also will include adding bike lanes and landscaping, installing fiber-optic cable, resurfacing the road and closing multiple access points to improve the overall safety of Highway 14.
Rochester Sand and Gravel, a division of Mathy Construction, is the prime contractor for this $5.9 million project, which is scheduled to be completed at the end of September, weather permitting.
For more information about the Highway 14 reconstruction project, visit www.dot.state.mn.us/d6/projects/hwy14inrochester/index.html.
MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
