Highway 14 paving in Rochester begins Sept. 23
ROCHESTER, Minn. — Motorists can expect delays beginning Friday, Sept. 23, when crews begin the second and final layer of paving on Highway 14 in Rochester.
During the paving operations the intersections at Third Avenue, Eighth Avenue, 11th Avenue and Marion Road will close intermittently, and law enforcement will direct traffic to the next open intersection.
Paving will continue through Tuesday, Sept. 27, weather permitting.
The paving is part of the Highway 14 reconstruction project, which also includes adding bike lanes and landscaping, installing fiber-optic cable, resurfacing the road and closing multiple access points to improve the overall safety of Highway 14.
Rochester Sand and Gravel, a division of Mathy Construction, is the prime contractor for this $5.9 million project.
