Work resumes on Highway 14 in Rochester July 25

 

ROCHESTER, Minn. — Motorists can expect single-lane traffic on Highway 14 between Third Avenue Southeast and Marion Road through Rochester beginning Monday, July 25, as crews resume reconstructing the highway.


The project was temporarily suspended during a 20-day state government shutdown.


The Highway 14 reconstruction project includes new traffic signals at Third Avenue, Eighth Avenue, 11th Avenue and Marion Road. The project also will include adding bike lanes and landscaping, installing fiber-optic cable, resurfacing the road and closing multiple access points to improve the overall safety of Highway 14.


Rochester Sand and Gravel, a division of Mathy Construction, is the prime contractor for this project, expected to be complete in late September.
