Highway 14/Eighth Avenue intersection in Rochester now open
ROCHESTER, Minn. — Motorists can now cross Highway 14 at Eighth Avenue Southeast in Rochester.
The intersection was restricted to right-in/right-out turning movements while crews installed new traffic signals and conducted underground utility work.
New traffic signals also were installed at Third Avenue Southeast.
Highway 14 from Third Avenue Southeast to Marion Road remains under construction until early August, when the entire reconstruction project will be complete.
The resurfacing work is part of the Highway 14 reconstruction project, which includes new traffic signals at Third Avenue, Eighth Avenue, 11th Avenue and Marion Road. The project also will include adding bike lanes and landscaping, installing fiber-optic cable, resurfacing the road and closing multiple access points to improve the overall safety of Highway 14.
Rochester Sand and Gravel, a division of Mathy Construction, is the prime contractor for this project.
