Section of Highway 14 in Rochester now open
ROCHESTER, Minn. — Work is complete on a section of Highway 14 in Rochester from Highway 52 to just east of Highway 63, and all lanes are open.
Highway 14 was reduced to a single lane in each direction while crews resurfaced the road.
Highway 14 from Third Avenue Southeast to Marion Road remains single lane until early August, when the entire reconstruction project will be complete.
The resurfacing work is part of the Highway 14 reconstruction project, which will include new traffic signals at Third Avenue, Eighth Avenue, 11th Avenue and Marion Road. The project also will include adding bike lanes and landscaping, installing fiber-optic cable, resurfacing the road and closing multiple access points to improve the overall safety of Highway 14.
Rochester Sand and Gravel, a division of Mathy Construction, is the prime contractor for this project.
