MnDOT installs new pedestrian ramps on Highway 14 in Winona
ROCHESTER, Minn. – Motorists and pedestrians will experience minimal traffic and sidewalk delays along Highway 14 in Winona as crews replace the pedestrian ramps at the corner of Cottonwood Drive and Highway 61/Highway 14.
Work will begin May 16 and continue through June, weather permitting.
These new ramps are part of MnDOT’s efforts to improve accessibility for pedestrians crossing state highways. Work also will include installation of accessible pedestrian signals that will feature sounds and vibrations to aid the blind and hearing impaired across the road safely.
TI-Zack Concrete Inc. is the contractor for the $99,673 project.
MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
