TRAVEL ADVISORY
UPDATE: Eastbound Hwy 65 at Clark Street in Albert Lea now open
Westbound remains closed
ROCHESTER, Minn. — (12:25 p.m.) Eastbound Hwy 65 at Clark Street in Albert Lea is now open.
Westbound Hwy 65 remains closed.
Westbound traffic will be detoured to Clark Street, Newton Street and then back to Hwy 65. Detour signs are in place.
Officials anticipate westbound Hwy 65 will open soon.
Motorists should plan accordingly. When a road is closed it is illegal to travel in that area. Motorists can be fined up to $1,000 and/or 90 days in jail. In addition, if travelers need to be rescued from a closed road, other expenses and penalties will apply.
