TRAVEL ADVISORY
Westbound Highway 65 at Clark Street in Albert Lea closed due to flooding
ROCHESTER, Minn.— (7:30) The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the city of Albert Lea closed westbound Highway 65 at Clark Street in Albert Lea due to flooding.
Westbound traffic will be detoured to Clark Street, Newton Street and then back to Highway 65. Detour signs are in place.
Westbound Highway 65 will remain closed until further notice. Officials anticipate eastbound Highway 65 will also flood soon.
Motorists should plan accordingly. When a road is closed it is illegal to travel in that area. Motorists can be fined up to $1,000 and/or 90 days in jail. In addition, if travelers need to be rescued from a closed road, other expenses and penalties will apply.
