Detour, lane closures on I-90/Highway 61 near Dresbach set for Feb. 25

ROCHESTER, Minn. — Motorists on westbound Interstate 90/northbound Highway 61 near Dresbach will experience a detour or single-lane traffic Friday morning, Feb. 25, as crews remove a damaged overhead sign structure.

Crews will close the right lane of westbound I-90/northbound Highway 61 and Dakota Exit 271 at 8 a.m. Local traffic should find alternate routes.

A short mid-morning detour for westbound/northbound traffic also will be in effect for approximately one hour while a crane removes the sign structure above I-90/Highway 61.

Motorists traveling on westbound I-90/northbound Highway 61 should use Dresbach Exit 273 B & A, go north on Winona County Road 12/Riverview Drive and then continue straight to access Highway 61, or turn left on Winona County Road 101 to access I-90.

Signs and flaggers will direct traffic through the detour route. Oversize and overweight vehicles are not permitted to use the detour route.

All work will be completed and closures will be lifted by noon, Feb. 25, weather permitting.

Signs previously attached to the overhead structure will now be posted on the side of the road.

Mn/DOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
