Bridge work on the Rice County Road 3 bridge over Interstate 35 begins August 9
ROCHESTER, Minn. – Motorists on Rice County Road 3 (south of Elko) will experience a detour when traveling over Interstate 35 beginning Monday, August 9, as maintenance crews mill and overlay the concrete bridge deck, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Detour:
From Rice County Road 3, continue east on Rice County Road 86, then south on Rice County Road 46 and back to Rice County Road 3.
Work is expected to be completed by the end of August, weather permitting. The new bridge deck will improve safety, create a smoother ride surface and extend the life of the bridge.
MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
