Bridge work on the Rice County Road 86 bridge over Interstate 35 begins Sept. 7
ROCHESTER, Minn. – Motorists on Rice County Road 86 (south of Elko) will experience a detour when traveling over Interstate 35 beginning Tuesday, Sept. 7, as maintenance crews mill and overlay the concrete bridge deck, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Detour:
From eastbound Rice County Road 86, go north on Scott County Road 91, east on Scott County Road 2, south on Scott County Road 46 and back to Rice County Road 86. Westbound traffic will follow the same route in reverse.
Work is expected to be completed by the end of September, weather permitting. The new bridge deck will improve safety, create a smoother ride surface and extend the life of the bridge.
MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
