Highway 16 in Houston County reopened to traffic
ROCHESTER, Minn. – The section of Highway 16 from Houston to Hokah has reopened to traffic, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The highway was closed and traffic was detoured as crews worked on a resurfacing project.
Motorists can expect single-lane traffic, controlled by flaggers for the remaining construction work, which is expected to be completed by the end of August, weather permitting.
When the project is finished, motorists will experience a smoother ride surface and a safer highway.
Mathy Construction Company is the prime contractor for the $4.4 million project.
The MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
