Interstate 90 traffic switch begins today in Winona County
Eastbound I-90, Highway 43 ramps and Enterprise Rest Area remain closed
ROCHESTER, Minn. — Motorists will encounter new traffic patterns on Interstate 90 between
St. Charles and Rushford beginning today, Thursday, Aug. 12, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Both directions of traffic were previously routed on the westbound lanes. The new traffic pattern will route motorists on one eastbound and one westbound lane.
The switch will allow crews to remove the crossover medians that were used during construction and complete miscellaneous clean-up work.
The eastbound I-90 exit and entrance ramps at Winona County Road 29 (Lewiston exit) and Highway 43 south (Rushford exit) will remain closed as crews finish ramp construction.
The Enterprise Rest Area will also remain closed.
Motorists will experience a smoother ride surface when the project is completed in mid-August, weather permitting.
P.C.I Roads is the prime contractor for the $15,327,582 construction project.
MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
