Bridge painting scheduled in Fillmore and Houston counties
ROCHESTER, Minn. — Motorists can expect brief lane closures as crews paint various bridges in Fillmore and Houston counties beginning Thursday, Aug. 12. Traffic should stop and take turns crossing the bridge.
Rainbow Inc. is the prime contractor for the $520,000 project, which includes three highways throughout the two counties.
- Highway 16 in Fillmore County
- Highway 26 in Houston County
- Highway 76 in Houston County
The paint will protect the bridges from environmental elements and improve the aesthetics on the various highways.
This bridge painting project is scheduled to be completed by mid-October, weather permitting.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
