Bridge maintenance work on Highway 61 in Red Wing begins July 6
ROCHESTER, Minn. — Motorists will experience slight delays on Highway 61 in Red Wing beginning Tuesday, July 6, as maintenance crews replace a center median south of Bench Street, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Traffic will be reduced to a single lane in each direction on Highway 61 near Bench Street. Work is expected to be completed by early August, weather permitting.
This center median improvement project will improve the overall safety of the bridge. The center median currently in place is rusting and the concrete has lost its effectiveness due to its age.
MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
