Installation of new pedestrian signals at Highway 19 and Highway 3 intersections delayed
ROCHESTER, Minn. — Construction delays have postponed the installation date for the new accessible pedestrian signals at the Highway 19 and Highway 3 intersections in Northfield to Tuesday, July 6, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Once installation begins motorists and pedestrians will experience minimal traffic and sidewalk delays at both the north and south junctions of Highway 19 and Highway 3.
The work is expected to take approximately two days, weather permitting.
The new signals are a part of MnDOT’s efforts to improve accessibility for pedestrians crossing state highways.
MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
