Highway 56 construction from Brownsdale to Dodge County Road 10 begins May 10

ROCHESTER, Minn. —Motorists can expect single-lane traffic on Highway 56 between Brownsdale and Dodge County Road 10 when crews begin resurfacing the road on Monday, May 10, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Flaggers will control traffic throughout the project, which is scheduled to continue through July, weather permitting.

Traffic on Highway 56 will also be detoured for one week beginning Monday, May 10, while crews replace culverts.

Rochester Sand and Gravel, a division of Mathy Construction, is the prime contractor for the $6,016,108 construction project. When the project is complete, motorists will experience a smoother ride surface and a safer highway.

MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
