Interstate 90 ramp at Rushford closed temporarily beginning May 3
ROCHESTER, Minn. —The eastbound Interstate 90 exit and entrance ramps at Highway 43 south (Rushford exit) will close temporarily beginning Monday, May 3, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The ramp closures are needed for a concrete resurfacing project on eastbound I-90 from Highway 43 south/Rushford exit to Highway 74/St. Charles exit.
The ramps will remain closed for the majority of the project, which is scheduled to be complete in late August. Motorists should follow the posted detours.
Eastbound I-90 to Highway 43 south towards Rushford:
- Highway 43 north (Winona exit) to
- Winona County Road 12 west to
- Highway 43 south
Motorists can also expect temporary lane closures on eastbound and westbound I-90 from Highway 43 south/Rushford exit to Highway 74/St. Charles exit from Monday, May 3 to Thursday, May 13. These closures are necessary as crews work to install guardrail and prepare the westbound lanes for upcoming traffic switches.
When the concrete resurfacing project begins in mid-May motorists will experience single lane traffic on the westbound I-90 lanes. Motorists will benefit from a smoother ride surface when the project is completed.
P.C.I Roads is the prime contractor for the $15,327,582 construction project.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
