Interstate 35 and Highway 14 ramp closures begin April 26
ROCHESTER, Minn. —The ramp from northbound Interstate 35 to eastbound Highway 14 and the ramp from westbound Highway 14 to southbound 1-35 will close Monday, April 26, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Motorists will be detoured from Highway 14 to County Road 45 south, then to Highway 30 west to I-35 near Ellendale.
These ramp closures will be in effect until November 2010 when this year’s construction work is expected to be completed.
The ramp closures are part of the three-year reconstruction of Highway 14 from Waseca to Owatonna which also includes construction of a new interchange at I-35 and Highway 14.
Mathiowetz Construction Co., Sleepy Eye, Minn., is the prime contractor for the $51.8 million project. The entire project is expected to be completed by June 15, 2012.
MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
