Traffic patterns scheduled to change on I-90 near Dresbach April 19
ROCHESTER, Minn. —Motorists will encounter slight delays on Interstate 90 beginning Monday, April 19, when bridge replacement work resumes near Dresbach, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Eastbound traffic will be routed onto the westbound lanes, resulting in head-to-head traffic. This traffic pattern will remain in effect until the bridges are complete.
For safety reasons, two overnight road closures have been scheduled while crews remove the I-90 bridges:
Tuesday, April 20
Beginning at 9 p.m., Third Street North will close intermittently for up to 15 minutes as crews remove the I-90 bridge. The temporary closures will be in effect until 6 a.m., Wednesday, April 21.
Wednesday, April 21
Beginning at 9 p.m., Third Street South will close intermittently for up to 15 minutes as crews remove the I-90 bridge. The temporary closures will be in effect until 6 a.m., Thursday, April 22.
To avoid delays during bridge demolition, motorists should seek alternate routes.
The work is part of the $4.4 million I-90 bridge replacement project that began in early June 2009. Lunda Construction Co. is the prime contractor. The project is scheduled to be completed by November 2010, weather permitting.
MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
