Bridge work on the Hwy 52 West Frontage Road in Oronoco begins March 2
ROCHESTER, Minn. —Motorists may encounter delays on the Hwy 52 West Frontage Road/ Lake Shady Drive in Oronoco as crews do shoulder work and install rock below the bridge beginning March 2, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
During working hours, the West Frontage Road will be reduced to a single lane and traffic will be controlled by flaggers. Work is expected to be completed by March 16, weather permitting.
This work will also affect the snowmobile trail that runs across the bridge during both day and overnight hours. MnDOT asks snowmobilers to slow down when approaching the work zone and safely travel around the area.
The rock will be installed to prevent erosion and protect the bridge from water damage.
After work is completed, the city of Oronoco will take over maintenance responsibilities for the West Frontage Road.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
