Highway 63 bridge construction in Zumbro Falls postponed

ROCHESTER, Minn. –  The construction date for the Highway 63 bridge in Zumbro Falls has been postponed, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

In response to the September 2010 flooding, the city of Zumbro Falls is considering various flood control options to help prevent future flooding.

The city is looking into rerouting the Buckman Coulee to the east. If this occurs, the Highway 63 bridge would be removed altogether. If the city of Zumbro Falls does not move forward with this option, the Highway 63 bridge will be replaced in 2012.

The city is currently working with MnDOT and DNR to secure funding and finalize the flood control plan.
