ROCHESTER,
Minn. - The city of Owatonna, Steele County and the Minnesota
Department of Transportation will host an open house Monday, Sept.
29, to discuss a proposed east, west and south beltline around
Owatonna and potential access changes to Highway 14 south of Owatonna.
The multi-agency
beltline planning study, which amends the 1995 Owatonna East Side
Corridor Environmental Report, will consider additional locations
for the original preferred east side corridor, determine the location
of a south and west beltline, and review the existing connections
with Highway 14.
The west beltline
study limits extend from the western city limits of Owatonna to
Steele County Road 17. The south beltline extends from Highway
14 to County Road 18 and the east beltline between the eastern
city limits to County Highway 59.
The purpose
of the open house is to gather public comments about the conceptual
corridor locations and access modifications along Highway 14.
The Sept. 29 event will take place in the board room of the Steele
County Administration Building, 630 Florence Ave., Owatonna. The
public can attend anytime between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.
Those requesting
American Disability Act accommodations, such as an American Sign
Language interpreter, can do so by calling 651.282.6981 voice,
