Railroad maintenance in Detroit Lakes to impact various Hwy 10 intersections next week
DETROIT LAKES, Minn.—Motorists traveling on Highway 10 in Detroit Lakes will encounter intersection closures at Airport Road/Wine Lake Road, Washington Avenue, Kris Street and County Road 54 starting Tuesday, Oct. 29 as railroad crews complete repairs at the crossings. The Highway 10 turn lanes to these roads will be closed, and traffic should follow the detour signs.
BNSF Railway will begin repairs at the Airport Road/Wine Lake Road crossing on Tuesday, moving east to Washington Avenue on Wednesday, Oct. 30, Kris Street on Thursday, Oct. 31, and County Road 54 on Friday, Nov. 1. There will also be a short-term lane closure on westbound Highway 10 just west of County Road 54.
MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, and reminds them to slow down in the work zone and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
