Westbound I-94 exit ramp into Evansville to close intermittently between June 7-14
Single-lane traffic continues on I-94 between Evansville and Garfield
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — Motorists on Interstate 94 near Evansville will experience a westbound exit closure of Exit 82 to Hwy 79 beginning today, Thursday, June 7. As crews begin hauling material into construction work zones, the exit ramp will be closed during daylight hours on the following dates:
- Thursday, June 7
- Monday, June 11 through Thursday, June 14
Traffic will be detoured to Exit 90 into Brandon, and motorists can follow County Road 7 NW and Hwy 82 into Evansville.
In addition to the exit closure, motorists on I-94 between the Garfield and Evansville exits will continue to encounter single-lane traffic, alternating directions, through October.
The work is part of an overall project that includes resurfacing both directions of I-94 between Hwy 79 and Hwy 114, and replacing the decks on the Hwy 79 and Hwy 114 bridges.
Mid-next week, crews will begin to place the concrete overlay on the roadway, starting near Garfield and progressing west to Brandon. The bridge deck replacements are scheduled to begin late June. Visit the project website at mndot.gov/d4/projects/i94overlay/ for more information.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) urges motorists to always drive with caution, and reminds them to slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
