Open house for Glenwood downtown reconstruction project set for April 14

Project is scheduled to begin in 2018

DETROIT LAKES, Minn.—The Minnesota Department of Transportation and city of Glenwood invite the public to learn more about the 2018 Glenwood downtown reconstruction project.

An informational open house will be held on Thursday, April 14, at the Pope County Courthouse Community Room, 130 East Minnesota Avenue, Glenwood. It is scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. A brief project overview will be presented at 4:15 and 5:15 p.m.

Key elements of the project include:

  • Resurfacing of Highways 28, 29 and 104 throughout Glenwood
  • Downtown Complete Streets reconstruction
  • New signal system
  • Sidewalk improvements and ADA accessibility upgrades
  • Highway 28 grade raise and realignment near the Pope County Fairgrounds
  • Downtown utility replacement

MnDOT construction staff and representatives from SEH consulting firm will present the latest layout. They will also take feedback, answer questions and address concerns about the project.
