Orange barrels on a highway

Hwy 27 is closed east of Hoffman

Local traffic will need to use alternate routes for up to two weeks

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – Hwy 27 four miles east of Hoffman is closed to all traffic after crews resurfacing the road encountered a section between Douglas County Road 1 and Dairy Drive that needs repairs.

Until those repairs can be made, the road is unsafe for local traffic, which previously had been allowed through the work zone. The road may remain impassable for up to two weeks.

The entire resurfacing project is expected to be complete by late July.
