Highway 7 railroad bridge repair north of Milan begins Sept. 9
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — Local traffic on Highway 7 between Appleton and Milan will not be allowed to cross under the railroad bridge north of Milan starting Sept. 9 so crews can make repairs.
Highway 7 in this area is currently under detour for a culvert replacement and resurfacing project. Residents who live within the road closure are allowed to use Highway 7, but they are encountering temporary closures at culvert replacement sites.
All non-residents should continue to follow the signed detour route on Highway 119 and Highway 40.
The bridge sustained damaged last winter when it was struck by a semi hauling an oversized load.
