Orange barrels on a highway

Main Avenue resurfacing in Moorhead begins Aug. 27

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — Motorists on Highway 10/Main Avenue in Moorhead will experience occasional delays and lane closures beginning Tuesday, Aug. 27, for resurfacing.

Crews will resurface Main Avenue between the Red River bridge and Eighth Street. Work is expected to last about one week.

Resurfacing is the final major phase of this summer’s project in Moorhead.

In addition, motorists may notice crews completing work in two additional areas:

  • Northbound Eighth Street between Eighth Avenue and 12th Avenue
  • Highway 10 at 21st Street

Lane closures and sidewalk detours are possible in these areas.

Additional information about the improvements and project updates are available at www.mndot.gov/d4/projects/downtownmoorhead.

When the project is complete, motorists will notice a smoother ride along four blocks of Main Avenue in downtown Moorhead. Pedestrians will have improved safety and accessibility along Highway 10 and Highway 75.
