Public meeting for Highway 78 improvements set for July 30

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites the public to attend a meeting about the Highway 78 improvements between Battle Lake and Perham on Tuesday, July 30.

The open house is scheduled for 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Battle Lake City Hall, 108 Main Street East, Battle Lake. A brief presentation will take place at 6:45 p.m.

Representatives from MnDOT, Mark Sand and Gravel and Battle Lake will be on hand to outline plans for upcoming construction activities. They will also address questions or concerns about the project.

Crews will resurface Highway 78 between Battle Lake and Perham beginning in August. In addition, Lake Avenue will be re-constructed through downtown Battle Lake. The work will cause delays and inconveniences to both mobility and access.

For more information regarding the open house or the reconstruction project, contact Seth Yliniemi, MnDOT project engineer, at seth.yliniemi@state.mn.us or 218-846-3631. Additional information is available at http://www.mndot.gov/d4/projects/hwy78.
