Orange barrels on a highway

Moorhead construction work to expand beginning May 28

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — Work along Highway 10 and Highway 75 in Moorhead will expand starting Tuesday, May 28, weather permitting.

Crews will begin replacing the traffic signal at the intersection of Main Avenue and Sixth Street. Traffic on Main Avenue will reduce to one lane in each direction between Fifth Street and Seventh Street. Traffic on Sixth Street will use temporary stop signs and may not take left turns in the area where crews are working. Pedestrians should expect intermittent sidewalk detours.

Signal work is also expected to begin on Center Avenue at 14th Street. Motorists will experience lane closures at the intersection.

In addition, crews will make pedestrian accessibility improvements in the following areas:

  • Southbound Eighth Street between 10th Avenue and 20th Avenue
  • Northbound Eighth Street between Main Avenue and 10th Avenue
  • Northbound Eighth Street between 30th Avenue and 40th Avenue

Traffic will reduce to one lane, and pedestrians will encounter intermittent sidewalk detours.

Crews will complete other improvements along Highway 10 and Highway 75 in phases throughout the summer.

Additional information about the improvements and project updates are available at www.mndot.gov/d4/projects/downtownmoorhead.
