Interstate 94 Buffalo River bridge work begins May 28

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — Motorists on westbound Interstate 94 near the Buffalo River east of Moorhead will experience a lane closure and possible delays beginning Tuesday, May 28, weather permitting.

Crews will paint beams beneath the bridge. In summer 2012, crews re-decked the bridges over the Buffalo River.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane. Significant delays are possible on westbound I-94, particularly on Sunday afternoons and evenings.

The bridge work will last about one month.

The new decks will prolong the life of the bridges and improve safety and mobility along I-94. Painting the beams protects the bridge from corrosion.
