I-94 closes from Alexandria to Fergus Falls
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – (6:00 a.m.) The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Minnesota State Patrol have closed Interstate 94 from Fergus Falls to Alexandria due to jackknifed semis blocking traffic. Interstate 94 will remain closed until the roadway can be cleared.
Parts of west central Minnesota have received freezing rain, and roads are in difficult driving condition. Motorists are urged to slow down.
MnDOT snow plow operators are doing their part to make highways safe. Motorists should remember to:
- Drive slowly on bridges, overpasses and tunnels.
- Use a safe speed for winter driving conditions, regardless of the posted speed limit.
- Keep a safe stopping distance from the vehicle in front of you.
- Keep both hands on the steering wheel, eyes on the road and attention on your driving.
