No travel advised on Hwy 113 and Hwy 108
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – (7:15 a.m.) The Minnesota Department of Transportation advises no travel on Highway 113 between Waubun and Hwy 71 and on Highway 108 between Pelican Rapids and Hwy 78 due to icy road conditions.
Other roads in those areas are in difficult driving condition. Officials do not anticipate any highway closures at this time; however, motorists may encounter brief lane and road closures where crashes occur.
MnDOT snow plow operators are doing their part to make highways safe. Motorists should remember to:
- Drive slowly on bridges, overpasses and tunnels.
- Use a safe speed for winter driving conditions, regardless of the posted speed limit.
- Keep a safe stopping distance from the vehicle in front of you.
- Keep both hands on the steering wheel, eyes on the road and attention on your driving.
