Second detour on Hwy 55 in west central Minnesota begins today
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — Motorists on Hwy 55 between Hwy 75 and Hwy 9 will encounter a detour starting Friday, Oct. 26, as crews work on a culvert replacement project.
This detour will extend the current detour in operation between Hwy 59 and Hwy 9.
Local traffic will be allowed within the detour zone, but motorists will not be allowed through the construction sites.
Detour route:
- Eastbound traffic on Hwy 55 will detour north on Hwy 75 for three miles, then east on Wilkin County Road 4 and Otter Tail County Road 26 for about 30 miles, then south on Hwy 59 for five miles. Westbound traffic will follow the same detour in reverse. The detours are expected to be up until Saturday, Nov. 3.
- Traffic on Hwy 9 attempting to travel onto Hwy 55 will be detoured to Wilkin County Road 4.
