Detours begin Oct. 24 on Hwy 55 in west central Minnesota
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — Motorists on Hwy 55 between Hwy 9 and Hwy 59 will encounter a detour starting Wednesday, Oct. 24, as crews begin a culvert replacement project.
Local traffic will be allowed within the detour zone, but motorists will not be allowed through the construction sites.
Starting Wednesday, Oct. 24, Hwy 55 traffic will detour between Hwy 59 and Hwy 9.
Detour route:
Westbound traffic on Hwy 55 will detour on Hwy 59 north of Elbow Lake for five miles, then west on Otter Tail County Road 26 and Wilkin County Road 4 for 26 miles, and south on Hwy 9 for five miles. Eastbound traffic will follow the same detour in reverse. The detour is expected to last up to two weeks.
