Two westbound lanes open on I-94 in Moorhead
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — Motorists should encounter fewer construction delays on I-94 in Moorhead starting this afternoon. Crews reopened a second westbound lane near the Main Avenue Southeast construction zone.
On Monday, one westbound lane of I-94 was closed while the inside shoulder was widened. This afternoon, crews shifted traffic toward the inside shoulder and reopened the second lane.
The two westbound and two eastbound lanes will remain open for the remainder of the project.
Crews are constructing an eastbound off-ramp and westbound on-ramp connecting I-94 and Main Avenue Southeast.
Work is scheduled to be complete in late October, weather permitting.
The new ramps will improve safety by reducing the need for motorists to cross railroad tracks. They also will improve access for businesses and residents along Main Avenue.
