New Hwy 10 interchange near Perham opens

Motorists will see shoulder closures next week while crews clean up site

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — New interchange ramps at Highway 10 and Otter Tail County Road 34 near Perham opened this morning, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Motorists will encounter shoulder closures next week while crews install signs and clean up the construction site.

In addition to the new entrance and exit ramps, the project also included improvements to Otter Tail County Road 34 and a bicycle and pedestrian trail.

The improvements have enhanced access to the city of Perham and improved safety for all modes of transportation.

This project was constructed through the Transportation Economic Development Program, which is funded by MnDOT and Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development with local matches provided by the city of Perham, Otter Tail County and private donations.

An event celebrating the completion of the project will be held later in September.

MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones. For statewide travel information, visit, call 5-1-1 or log on to
