Pavement marking project in west central Minnesota begins Aug. 7


DETROIT LAKES, Minn.—Motorists on west central Minnesota highways will encounter lane closures when a pavement marking project begins Aug. 7


Crews will install rumble stripes along the edges of the following road segments and paint over them with highly reflective paint:


The rumble stripes will improve safety on these highways because they reduce run-off-the-road crashes. Comprehensive research studies have shown a 20 percent reduction in fatal and serious injury crashes once they are installed. Also, the wet reflective paint will make edge lines much more visible in the dark and wet driving conditions.
