Traffic switch at I-94 Buffalo River bridges scheduled for July 26

DETROIT LAKES, Minn.—Motorists will encounter a traffic switch on Interstate 94 east of Moorhead beginning July 26 in the late afternoon.

Crews are wrapping up work on the westbound bridge over the Buffalo River and will then switch traffic to the westbound lanes to begin work on the eastbound bridge.

The bridge resurfacing and painting project is scheduled to be complete in mid-October, weather permitting.

The bridge work will prolong the life of the bridges and improve safety and mobility along the I-94 corridor.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges motorists to slow down while approaching and driving in work zones, use caution and expect delays.

The Buffalo River bridge project experiences heavy traffic flow on Friday evenings, and Sunday afternoons and evenings. Motorists may want to consider alternate routes during those peak periods.
